It was wonderful to see several our volunteers receive official acknowledgement for their hard work and for the difference they make to the community of Taunton Deane.

Our unsung heroes were celebrated at a Citizenship Awards ceremony, hosted by the borough council and local Rotary Clubs at the County Cricket Ground in Taunton on April 25th 2018.

A panel of judges, led by Taunton Deane’s outgoing Mayor Deane Cllr Hazel Prior-Sankey selected a wide range of individuals and groups as well deserved winners.

Cllr Prior-Sankey said:

“The Citizenship Awards give much-deserved recognition to the groups and individuals who do outstanding voluntary work in our community. So many people benefit from the work of this army of volunteers who dedicate themselves to a myriad of causes in Taunton Deane. Every one of them, whether they were nominated or not, deserve our sincere thanks.”
