CSW You Can Do, part of CSW Group, has achieved the Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard which recognises the excellent support they provide volunteers across Somerset.
Sue Hunter, Manager of the You Can Do service, said, “We are delighted to have achieved this national recognition. We believe passionately about all aspects of volunteering, the difference it can make to both volunteers and the people they support. This award is a reflection of the excellent work the people of Somerset are carrying out to help others in their community; whether it is helping children get the best start in life, driving people to vital hospital appointments or helping an older person reduce their isolation or loneliness. Our volunteers make a big difference to Somerset every day and it’s great to receive recognition for this hard work and for the role we play in supporting them”.
Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteering. It aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and for organisations to acknowledge the enormous contribution made by volunteers. The Award is unique in that it is the only standard that focuses on volunteers.
CSW You Can Do was rigorously assessed against four areas of volunteer management best practice; planning volunteer involvement, recruiting volunteers, selecting and matching volunteers and supporting and retaining volunteers. The award is managed by the UK Volunteering Forum and delivered across England by NCVO. The organisation has successfully proved to excellence in all aspects of its work with its volunteers.
