This week (1-7 June) is possibly the busiest week in a voluntary sector organisation’s calendar as we celebrate Volunteer’s Week across the UK.

This year the campaign is focusing on ‘volunteering for all’ and aims to recognise and celebrate the diversity of people who give their time for voluntary work in various different ways.

CSW You Can Do is celebrating Volunteer’s Week in a number of ways including:

  • County wide radio interviews shouting about all the great things our volunteers are doing in Somerset and answering questions
  • Promotional stands in various locations introducing volunteering to a new audience
  • A celebratory tea party / coffee and cake for our own office volunteers to say thank you for all the help
  • Distributing our first volunteer newsletter

We’ll also be taking part in the campaign’s planned themed days on social media and our offices so keep an eye out on our links below!

Saturday 2 June and Sunday 3 June
All in a picture! Share your best volunteering pictures on Twitter and Instagram using #VolunteersWeek – the more diverse the better!

Monday 4 June
As well as tweeting about volunteering for all, we’ll also be saying happy birthday to the NHS – 70 this year!

Tuesday 5 June
We’ll be placing the spotlight on young volunteers.

Wednesday 6 June
Tweeting about all the ways volunteers get involved in sports and physical activity.

The campaign was established in 1984 by Volunteering England, which merged with NCVO in 2013. NCVO now leads this UK-wide campaign.
