IT Support for the Homeless Volunteer

Location: Bridgwater

We are looking for Volunteers to support people during a homeless drop in session in Bridgwater. In these sessions Homeless people are given the opportunity to use a computer which allows them to communicate with family or friends, to access advice and complete benefit/housing applications which could be a lifeline for many.

This is an extremely rewarding opportunity where you can offer something back to the community helping many homeless people in Bridgwater move forward with their lives as well as improving your own skills and building on your CV.

Group Support & Short Break Buddy

Location: Various across Somerset

Short breaks is a service for children with disabilities and their families across Somerset – as a Short Break Volunteer you could join a regular activity group providing respite for families and fun for children. Anything from soft play, building blocks, arts and crafts and outdoor play is on offer and the children and their families really value the support that volunteers give in facilitating the sessions and encouraging the children to join in.

Community Hospital Volunteer

Location: Across Somerset

Community hospital staff do a great job in offering care to people who need a bit of help getting independence again after a stay as an inpatient. Community Hospital volunteers are essential to help them achieve this by offering practical day to day support in wards across Somerset.

Whether this is by operating a tea trolley, helping answer phones or by simply being a friendly face to patients and offering an ear or a chat – we’re looking for people who can volunteer some time to their local ward.

In return you’ll get exposure to and experience of being part of a working hospital setting which could help you change a career or get back into work, or just the benefit of making a difference to people in need.
